The Arts Society is a leading arts education charity with a global network of 385 local Societies, which bring people together through a shared curiosity for the arts.
Our events provide welcoming places - locally, nationally and globally - to hear expert lecturers share their specialist knowledge about the arts.
Our 90,000+ members contribute to and preserve our artistic heritage through volunteering and grants. Our strength is our people, joined together by a passion for the arts which can nourish and empower us all. Our work creates a better, healthier and more connected society.
Our vision - the belief that the Arts have the potential to enrich people's lives is at the heart of everything we do. We want to be the most inclusive and influential arts society.
The Arts Society Monmouthshire, previously known as Monmouthshire Decorative and Fine Arts Society (MDFAS), was founded in 2002 and is a member society of The Arts Society previously known as NADFAS. The centre of our activities is Abergavenny.
Our objectives are the promotion and advancement of the aesthetic education of the public, the cultivation, appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts, and the giving of aid to the preservation of our national heritage for the benefit of the public.

- the arrangement of related activities of an educational character for young people and other members of the public.
- the arrangement of voluntary preservation work by its members in relation to the decorative and fine arts.
- the arrangement of workshops for members
